As Wisconsin’s only public affairs school, we are uniquely situated to bring together policymakers and researchers to inform government decision-making.
Our faculty and students study ways to improve the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policy and effective governance. Our leading approach integrates analysis, statistics, budgeting, and other practical skills into the policymaking process.
We are always looking for opportunities for our students to gain valuable experience working with policymakers. More of our graduates choose state service over any other career pathway.

Convene
Our events convene policy conversations that advance civility in public dialogue and share best practices in public policy and administration – locally, nationally, and globally.
Consult
Connect one-on-one with our experts on campus. Our award-winning faculty research policy solutions that address legislative issues.
Participate
Our evidence-based policymaking courses teach skills in leadership, public policy analysis, cost-benefit calculation, and public management. Participate in training, lead a class discussion, or attend a networking event.
Partner
Partner with our students to research important public policy questions. Our students regularly work with public, private, and nonprofit entities to put their classroom learning to practical use. Or expand your workforce by hiring students as interns or employees.
