Our graduate-level professional development course for legislative staff helps develop skills in analyzing public policy and understanding public management.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive course credit for a graduate degree at La Follette School of Public Affairs at UW-Madison.

La Follette Legislative Staff Training 2026
A bipartisan group of Wisconsin State Legislature staff attended a graduate-level course in public policy taught by UW-Madison faculty. Participants honed public policy analysis and writing skills thanks to this unique partnership between the La Follette School of Public Affairs and the Legislative Human Resource Office.
La Follette Legislative Staff Training 2022
The La Follette School collaborated with the UW–Madison Chancellor’s Office, Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, and Wisconsin State Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer to facilitate professional development training for Assembly staff. A bipartisan group of 17 staff members participated in the four-day graduate-level course, designed to provide a foundational understanding of public policy analysis and public management.
