Mo O’Connor

Mo O’Connor, the La Follette School’s senior student services coordinator, celebrated 20 years of service to the University of Wisconsin–Madison in January. O’Connor has served as the La Follette School’s student services leader since June 2017.

“Whether it is helping students choose classes, navigate a new campus/city, or figure out how to survive/thrive during a global pandemic, Mo is always ready to help any student in need,” said Associate Director Steve Kulig (MPA ’14). “Mo’s leadership has also helped the La Follette School build the strong and successful infrastructure around the Undergraduate Certificate in Public Policy program.”

O’Connor leads recruiting efforts for the La Follette School’s graduate programs. She also works with incoming and current students as an academic advisor, complementing the faculty advisors assigned to master’s degree students.

O’Connor previously served undergraduate students in the College of Letters & Science and the School of Human Ecology as a career advisor, and as a student services coordinator in the Wisconsin School of Business, School of Nursing, and College of Engineering.

A proud UW–Madison alumna, O’Connor completed graduate work in the Columbia University School of the Arts and Columbia University Teachers College and has a master of fine arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing and a master of education (Ed.M.) in English education.
