Professional/research interests
My professional interests center on science communication, public health, and the intersection of global health and media. I am particularly interested in translating complex scientific and biomedical concepts into clear, accessible messaging that can inform diverse audiences and support evidence-based decision-making. My work and coursework have focused on areas such as infectious disease, health equity, and the societal impacts of science, including how issues like climate change and emerging technologies affect population health. Professionally, I am interested in roles that combine strategic communication, digital media, and storytelling to support innovation in fields like biotechnology, public health, and scientific research.
Career goals
My career goals are to work at the intersection of science communication, public health, and biotechnology, using strategic storytelling and digital media to make complex scientific ideas accessible and impactful. I aim to contribute to organizations that are advancing innovation in areas like therapeutics and global health, helping translate research into clear messaging that builds trust, informs decision-making, and supports public understanding. Long term, I hope to grow into a role that blends content strategy, communications leadership, and mission-driven storytelling.
Student worker
I currently work as a Communications Assistant with the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I create and edit digital content, including website updates, videos, and social media, while helping promote events and highlight student and faculty work. I translate policy-related content into clear, engaging language and support outreach efforts. I was drawn to the role for its blend of communication and public affairs, and the opportunity to build strategic storytelling skills.
What do you enjoy most about working with La Follette students or staff?
What I enjoy most about working with La Follette students and staff is being part of a hardworking, collaborative team where everyone brings different strengths to the table. It creates an environment where I can learn from others’ expertise, whether it is policy knowledge, writing, or strategy, and apply that to my own work. I also value how supportive and engaged everyone is. People are always willing to offer feedback or help problem solve, which makes it easier to grow and produce stronger, more effective communications.
Are you involved with any on- and/or off-campus volunteer activities?
I am actively involved in on-campus organizations that align with my interests in public health and community engagement. I serve as President of the Global Health Alliance, where I lead initiatives focused on global health equity, coordinate events, and foster student engagement around public health issues. I am also involved with Slow Food UW, where I contribute through video and digital media work. I also help prepare and serve meals at events, supporting efforts to promote food sustainability, access, and community engagement.
