Thank You, Alumni!

To all our alumni who participated in Alumni Connections 2021 – THANK YOU! While the pandemic kept us socially distanced, the La Follette School hosted three events this spring to bring alumni together virtually for the very first time in the School’s history.

In March, beloved emeritus and current faculty members participated in a panel discussion about the Importance of Public Policy, Before, During, and After COVID-19 (watch on YouTube). The following month, several alumni from various policy sectors volunteered to share career insights and words of wisdom with students during a Virtual Networking Event. Our final event was an Online Reunion, where alumni re-connected with old friends and welcomed the Class of 2021.

Alumni from more than 15 states (such as Illinois, Minnesota, California Colorado, Oregon, Texas, and New Mexico, and Washington, DC) joined us for these events. Graduates spanned 50 years—from the Class of 1971 (when the La Follette School was the Center of Public Policy and Administration) to the Class of 2021.

“We were thrilled to see so many La Follette School alumni during Alumni Connections 2021, and we look forward to seeing many more—in person and online—next year,” says La Follette School Director and Professor Susan Webb Yackee. “And please remember to stay in touch via our online form or at alumni@lafollette.wisc.edu.”
