This spring, La Follette students had several opportunities to learn from Wisconsin state government representatives from the legislative and executive branches.
Building on an introduction to core concepts in health policy, students learn how to evaluate research evidence and think critically about the range of interests influencing and affected by health policy.
Our students have been busy this semester receiving fellowships, starting new positions, having their work featured around campus and beyond, and even running for local office.

In December, 20 students graduated with certificates—12 in public policy and 8 in health policy.
In May, health policy certificate student Susan Farias joined Professor Sarah Halpern-Meekin in her work on the project, which studies the impact of poverty reduction on families and young children.
The Wisconsin in Washington program provides UW–Madison undergraduates with the opportunity to intern while taking courses in Washington, D.C.
