About

Kelly Otto is an undergraduate academic advisor serving public policy and health policy certificate students at the La Follette School of Public Affairs. She connects students to resources and experiences that best support their unique academic and personal goals.

In 2021, she completed a master’s degree from UW–Madison’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. 18 years prior, Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a secondary education minor. Her career as a passionate student services practitioner spans various academic settings, including Madison College; K-12 education; and Operation Fresh Start, an educational non-profit. She has worked as a teacher and in curriculum and program development.

While completing her master’s studies, Kelly focused on diversity in higher education, evidence-based student services, and using qualitative data to inform and improve the student experience. During that time, she also served as a shared governance representative on the Campus Diversity and Climate Committee and on the School of Education Programs Committee.

She enjoys hiking, reading, writing, gardening, dancing, and listening to all sorts of music.
