About

Tommy Jaime joined the outreach team in January of 2023 to help bring La Follette School research to a wider audience.

Before joining La Follette as the liaison between faculty and the outreach team, Tommy worked in communications for the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program in the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Tommy helped create and launch the program’s successful podcast, In Solidarity: Connecting Power, Place and Health.

Prior to County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, Tommy served as the communications director for Special Olympics Wisconsin for nearly five years. He also spent several years as an instructor in the Communication Studies Department at Edgewood College in Madison.

Tommy has a bachelor’s degree in film studies from UC Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in communication and leadership studies from Gonzaga University. He moved to Madison in 2012 to enter the doctoral program in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at UW–Madison, where his research interests centered on the mainstreaming of conspiracy theories and misinformation in the digital age.

Outside of work, Tommy enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys running, hiking, biking, and skiing.
