Mohammad Eshaghi (MPA, EAP student) will serve as a rate analyst intern at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin this summer. He will work within the Bureau of Rates and Finance, where he will contribute to the utility regulation and energy policy in Wisconsin. Eshaghi plans to present his paper “Bridging Finance and Participation: Crowdfunding for Renewable Energy Projects” at ASES SOLAR 2025 conference at the University of Boulder, Colorado in August. He will be the La Follette School Student Association treasurer for 2025-2026.
Sam Kaufmann (MPA student) was re-elected Waunakee Village Trustee in April. This will be his third term on the board. Kaufmann, who is a sixth-generation resident of Waunakee, is majoring in political science and geography with a certificate in public policy. He is also in La Follette’s accelerated MPA program.
Alivia Lindorfer (MPA student) started a new position as program and policy analyst advanced at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in April. She graduated from the La Follette School in May.
Luis Navarrete (MPA student) will work as a graduate research intern at the Wisconsin Policy Forum, a nonpartisan research organization that provides independent, data-driven analysis of policy issues affecting the state, this summer. At La Follette, Navarrete has served as vice president and social coordinator of the school’s student association. He currently works as a policy researcher for Downtown Madison, Inc.
Stacey Novogoratz (MPA student) started a new position as program management section chief in the Office of Strategic Health Policy at the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds. She previously worked as a project coordinator for the Wisconsin Partnership Program. Novogoratz won the Brenton Scholarship, which recognizes an exceptional student who is passionate about health policy, in 2022-23.
