La Follette bolsters its world-class faculty

La Follette is thrilled to welcome three new faculty members this fall.

Silvia Barcellos

Silvia Helena Barcellos joins La Follette as an associate professor. She has a joint appointment with Population Health Sciences and her research focuses on health, health care, and labor economics. Barcellos is a member of La Follette’s Initiative in Social Genomics, one of the world’s largest and most innovative collaboratives pursuing topics in social genomics. Barcellos was previously a faculty member at the University of Southern California and received her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.

Myriam Grégoire-Zawilski

Portrait of Myriam Gregoire-Zawilski

Myriam Grégoire-Zawilski joins La Follette as an assistant professor. Her research focuses on environmental and energy policy, and she received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Her work has been published in Research Policy, the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, the Review of Policy Research, and Policy Design and Practice.

Amber Wichowsky

Amber Wichowsky joins La Follette as an associate professor. She has a joint appointment with the Division of Extension, where she holds the Leadership Wisconsin Endowed Chair. Her research focuses on civic engagement and civic dialogue. Wichowsky was previously a faculty member at Marquette University and received her Ph.D. in political science from UW-Madison. She is the co-author of “The Economic Other: Inequality in the American Political Imagination,” which received the Juliette and Alexander L. George Outstanding Political Psychology Book Award from the International Society of Political Psychology in 2021.
