Tom Loftus (MA ’72) recently published a book called Mission to Oslo: Dancing with the Queen, Dealmaking with the Russians, Shaping History, a memoir that covers 1993 to 1998, when Loftus served as President Bill Clinton’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway. Loftus, who is a graduate of the La Follette School’s predecessor, the Center for the Study of Public Policy and Administration, led the 1983 legislative charge to create the La Follette School and was the recipient of the La Follette School’s 2024 Alumni of Distinction Award. He has also served as a member of the Wisconsin legislature and as the political and diplomatic advisor to the Director General of the World Health Organization.
Tim Casper (MA ’99) is serving as interim president of Madison College while a search is completed for a new president. Casper has served as executive vice president at Madison College since 2020 and in other senior level positions previously.
Elizabeth Zeman (MPA ’08) started a new position as system grants office manager at Hospital Sisters Health System. She has worked at the organization in Green Bay since 2016 as a grant specialist.
Joshua Cruz (MPA ’18) started a new position as research policy manager at 23andMe, where he will craft and refine research policies. After receiving his MPA from La Follette, Cruz completed his PhD in Neuroscience in 2022 through the neuroscience and public policy combined degree program.
Lauri Asbury (MPA ’24) represented the Wisconsin Alliance for Civic Trust (WisACT) in a Newsmaker Sunday interview that aired on WFRV-TV CBS Local 5 in Green Bay the Sunday before the November election to discuss bridging political divides and building trust in the electoral process.
Josh Owens (MPA ’24) started a new position as senior associate of valuation at E4TheFuture, where he will contribute to work supporting state education on and evaluation of distributed energy resource investments.
Mia Williams (MPA ’24) accepted a position at Endeavor Health in their Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She will travel to different birthing hospitals in Illinois to conduct an ethnographic research study with the goal of improving birth equity.
