Kevin Luecke (MPA ’09) started a new role as pedestrian and bicycle administrator in the City of Madison Transportation Department, where he will work to make the city’s transportation system safer, more equitable, and more sustainable. Previously, he worked for 12 years for Toole Design Group as a transportation planner and regional office director.
Elizabeth Erickson (MIPA ’19) started a new role as executive director at Higher Expectations for Racine County, an organization that engages community partners to improve education and employment outcomes in Racine, Wisconsin. Prior to this role, Erickson worked as managing director of engagement and co-executive director of Higher Expectations.
Benjamin Olneck-Brown (MPA ’20) recently co-wrote a letter with Angela Bednarek about their work investing in research with positive societal impacts that was published in the journal Issues in Science and Technology.
Kaylin Hewitt (certificate in health policy and certificate in public policy ’22) co-wrote a report that highlights recent state-level policy threats to Medicaid and its accessibility and efficiency as part of her internship at Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which she completed in December. Hewitt received a bachelor’s degree in global health and certificates in health policy, public policy, and environmental studies from UW–Madison. She is a master of public policy student at American University.
Christina Zordani (certificate in public policy ’21 and MPA ’23) has been promoted to project manager 2 at CALSTART, a national nonprofit that aims to accelerate clean transportation and curb climate change.
Madison Mehlberg (certificate in public policy ’22 and MPA ’24) started a new position as a property and casualty claims specialist at Berkley Risk, where she will adjust, investigate, evaluate, and settle claims assigned on behalf of the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust. Previously, she worked as an underwriting analyst at Gravie.
Ryan Thiele (certificate in public policy ’22 and MPA ’24) recently represented Stantec, the sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting company where he works as a financial analyst, at a conference celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act. The conference was organized by the Water and Health Advisory Council.
