Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Christopher Nicholas, will present on the modern psychedelic landscape.
About
This presentation provides an integrated overview of the modern psychedelic landscape, spanning clinical trials, emerging psychological and neurobiological mechanism, and practice. We will review key findings from recent trials, highlighting both efficacy signals and methodological challenges (e.g., blinding, expectancy), and synthesize leading mechanistic perspectives alongside ongoing mechanistic work at UW. The session will also examine current delivery models and their intersection with evolving state and federal regulatory and economic frameworks. The goal is to orient students to both the promise and the practical complexities of translating psychedelic science into real-world care.
