This online session will open a conversation about how journalists engage with scholars, how to prepare for interviews, and how to craft public pieces that bring attention to pressing issues and ideas. It’s a chance to learn from Becky Jacob’s deep experience navigating the media landscape, ask questions, and build meaningful connections in the news world. This will be an excellent opportunity to ask questions and build meaningful connections with the speaker and SSN scholars.

Becky Jacobs is the higher education reporter for the Cap Times. She writes about universities and colleges in the Madison region, with a focus on the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and other education policy issues across the state.

Anthony Hernandez is an award-winning faculty member in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also serves as the Wisconsin Chapter Lead for the Scholars Strategy Network.
