Communications strategist at the Office of Health Equity, Wisconsin Department of Health Services

What type of work do you do in this position?

Lead development of the Office of Health Equity and Office of the Secretary’s strategic communications infrastructure to advance diversity, health equity, and inclusion—both within the agency’s policy and practices and for the external facing work with community partners across Wisconsin.

How have you used what you learned during your time at La Follette on the job?

Public management, policy analysis, and CBA course work has been valuable in better executing the creation and implementation of our office’s policy and best practices.

What courses did you take during your time at La Follette that have most contributed to you becoming a success in your current career?

PA 881: Cost-Benefit Analysis – making data-driven decisions based on evaluating the potential impact of any given policy or program

PA 878: Introduction to Public Management – learning how to build effective organizational structures to support policy development and implementation

PA 891: State & Local Government Finance
