Why an MPA?

My experience working in a municipality for six years and the desire to improve the public sector that I saw there made me want to pursue an MPA.

Why the La Follette School?

The Wisconsin Idea and the city drew me to La Follette. Madison is a great place to live for families.

I was a project assistant for La Follette’s outreach team, where I was able to further develop my Excel skills, which are useful in any job.

Impact of client-based projects

My client-based projects gave me useful real-world experience that can be transferred to other settings.

Most rewarding La Follette School experience

I got a lot of support from all the school staff.

Most challenging experience

Doing everything in English.

Why would you recommend the La Follette School to a prospective student?

It allows a lot of flexibility to pursue an individual path with a lot of support from faculty and staff.

Volunteer activities

My family and I serve food at the Catholic Multicultural Center every other week, and I am part of the pastoral council at Our Lady Queen of Peace parish. It is awesome to give back to society.

David Weimer and Steve Kulig helped me with letters of recommendation while several other staff members helped me to polish my application letters.

Favorite podcast

The Bible in a Year—it has been life-changing.

People would be surprised to know that…

I am pursuing a Ph.D. to carry out qualitative research.

Anything else?

I’m thankful to my wife and family for their support.
