About
Jeremy is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the La Follette School and the Wisconsin Exchange.
Starting in the winter semester, he will be teaching the course Advancing Policy in a Divided America. He studies American politics, political behavior, public opinion, and polarization. Much of his work focuses on the theme of ideological empathy. When individuals (Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives) encounter a view of the world they do not share, can they interpret that view in a neutral or generous fashion? Can such ideological empathy increase understanding and bolster democratic stability? Jeremy has received a Master of Public Policy degree from UC-Berkeley and a PhD in Political Science from Northwestern University. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Berkeley Center for American Democracy. His work has been supported by the Rappoport Family Foundation and the Tideline Foundation.
