About
As a member of the La Follette School’s Outreach Team, Brittney Mitchell plans and facilitates the La Follette School’s outreach events and activities. She joined the La Follette School in October 2020 and is incredibly excited to use her skills to connect the School’s teaching, research, and outreach with the Wisconsin Idea for improving our local, national, and global communities.
Brittney’s primary responsibilities include managing the La Follette Forum, engaging alumni, and assisting with the School’s wide array of outreach efforts, including virtual seminars and discussions, symposia, conferences, and community partnerships.
From 2017 to 2020, Brittney worked as a fundraiser for local and national arts and cultural institutions in Minneapolis and St. Paul, including Minnesota Public Radio and The National Lutheran Choir. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and Arts Administration from the University of Oregon, where she studied the importance of arts policy as a way to enrich local communities and encourage policymakers to prioritize arts and culture projects in long-term strategic planning.
Having grown up in Madison, Brittney is glad to be closer to family, exploring the many new walking and bike trails with her dog, Chester, and trying new restaurants with her partner, Evan.
