Yackee advises U.S. senator on rulemaking

Professor Susan Yackee has been advising U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island with legislation he is writing on regulatory policymaking.

Yackee met the senator in November 2010 at a lunch meeting organized by the Tobin Project, a network of academics that seeks to influence public debate by connecting scholars with policymakers. She ended up collaborating with/advising the senator and his staff about legislation he is likely to introduce.

The meeting also provided Yackee with insights for an article she is writing on congressional oversight of the rulemaking process with Jason Yackee, assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School and a La Follette faculty affiliate, in response to the Regulations From the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2011.
