Weimer comments on plan to report higher ed outcomes

Professor David Weimer comments in the Chronicle of Higher Education on a federal proposal to rate university outcomes as a mechanism to increase graduation rates and slow the rising cost of tuition.

Weimer, an expert on the use of report cards to rate health-care providers, predicts that if colleges and universities believe consumers seek information, they will provide it "functionally or dysfunctionally."
