Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs

A team from UW–Madison’s Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP), including La Follette School Professor J. Michael Collins, received a UW2020 award to increase the quality and amount of housing-related data available to the Wisconsin Administrative Data Core, a unique data resource at IRP. 

Two La Follette Faculty Affiliates, Professors Alta Charo and Seth Pollack, were admitted to American Academy of Arts and Sciences along with four other UW–Madison faculty. The Academy, founded in 1780 by John Hancock and 60 other scholars, honors excellence and convenes leaders who contribute to advancing the common good and upholding democratic ideals.

More than two dozen La Follette School faculty members and faculty affiliates gathered at the Pyle Center on September 29 for introductions and conversation. During the two-hour reception, Director Don Moynihan welcomed five new affiliates and three new faculty members.

More than 60 people attended each of four recent Town Hall meetings on key election issues with University of Wisconsin–Madison faculty members. The meetings in Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota, were sponsored by UW–Madison’s La Follette School of Public Affairs and Department of Political Science along with the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

La Follette School Professor Bobbi Wolfe and Marguerite Burns of UW–Madison’s Department of Population Health Sciences received the Willard Manning Award in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research from the International Center of Mental Health Policy and Economics.
