2012 alum Carly Hood is lead author on an article published in the Wisconsin Medical Journal.
La Follette School grad Tom Loftus, the former ambassador to Norway and special advisor to the director of the World Health Organization, joins Kjell Magne Bondevik, former prime minister of Norway and founder of the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights, in a discussion about religion's role in international negotiations.

Alumni enjoy brunch in D.C.

Wisconsin legislative analyst Jennie Mauer was vacationing in Washington, D.C., so a number of alumni and a student gathered for Sunday brunch on August 25.

Two alumni who are experts in human trafficking presented at a La Follette School symposium on modern-day slavery.

Alumni and friends are sharing their insights with students on the tools and skills needed to administer people and other resources. Faculty teaching public management this spring organized two classroom panel discussions, one featuring recent grads, the other senior managers.

Nine alumni and other public policy professionals will be sitting down with students and talking about careers in a La Follette School speed-networking session on Thursday, March 26.

The Wisconsin Ethics Commission unanimously selected Brian Bell (MPA ’10) as its first administrator. Bell currently serves as a budget and policy analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

State Rep. Gordon Hintz (MPA ’01) began his duties as Assembly minority leader October 1. Hintz, a state lawmaker from Oshkosh, was elected by his colleagues to replace Rep. Peter Barca (MA ’83), who resigned.
