The La Follette School of Public Affairs is seeking an outreach specialist to assist with legislative and other activities that connect UW–Madison faculty members and guests with state lawmakers, scholars, and community members. La Follette School alumni are encouraged to apply.
The La Follette School’s David Wright-Racette received the Student Personnel Association (SPA) Frontline Award for his efforts as the school’s student services associate on April 25. Mo O’Connor, Wright-Racette’s supervisor, coordinated his nomination and had the pleasure of presenting his award at the 39th Annual SPA Awards Luncheon in front of numerous La Follette School colleagues and approximately 250 higher education professionals in Madison.
Marjorie Matthews was honored with the Doug Palm Community Service Award for her work as the La Follette School’s Partners in Giving coordinator. Matthews joined the La Follette School in 2011 and serves as a university services associate.
Katie Lorenze (MIPA ’14) joined the La Follette School of Public Affairs as department administrator on Monday, August 13. Lorenze replaces Steve Kulig (MPA ’14), who became associate director in May.
Alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff will gather Tuesday, September 4 for the La Follette School’s annual Hill Fest welcome picnic. Hill Fest will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the beautiful La Follette grounds overlooking Lake Mendota at 1225 Observatory Drive.
The La Follette School of Public Affairs has launched its search for a department administrator. This high-level administrative position oversees budgeting, human resources, and career services.
Director Don Moynihan announced May 10 the appointment of Steve Kulig (MPA ’14) as the La Follette School’s associate director. Kulig, the school’s department administrator and career services coordinator since April 2016, replaces Hilary Shager (MPA ’05, PhD ’12), who joined UW–Madison’s Institute for Research on Poverty earlier this year.
La Follette School Associate Director Hilary Shager (MPA ’05, PhD ’12) has accepted a position with the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) at UW–Madison. She begins her duties as IRP’s associate director of programs & management/researcher Monday, March 5.
Mo O’Connor joined the La Follette School of Public Affairs as its student services coordinator June 26. She serves as the school’s admissions and advising coordinator, sharing information with prospective students and complementing faculty academic advisors.
Hilary Shager (MPA ’05, PhD, ’12) of the La Follette School of Public Affairs received an Early Career Academic Staff award from the Letters & Science Professional Development and Recognition Committee on April 13.
