More than 70 guests, including 45 alumni and friends, are expected so far at the annual Madison reception on Thursday, February 7, at Inn on the Park's Top of the Park, 22 South Carroll St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
More than 25 alumni and friends plan to join 12 La Follette School faculty at a reception in Washington, D.C., on Friday, November 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. People are encouraged to attend even if they have not RSVPed.

Great group expected at picnic July 24

Alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff are invited to the La Follette School on Thursday, July 24, for the annual Hill Fest picnic. The event is held on the beautiful La Follette School grounds overlooking Lake Mendota at 1225 Observatory Drive.

More than 65 people are expected at Thursday's reception in Washington, D.C., for alumni and friends of the La Follette School. The social gathering is 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Capitol View Business & Conference Center, 101 Constitution Avenue NW. Alumni are encouraged to attend even if they have not rsvped.

La Follette School Professor Pam Herd presented her winning proposal in AARP’s Policy Innovation Challenge during a forum convened by the National Academy of Social Insurance and AARP on October 19. The day-long event in Washington, D.C., explored new ideas in Social Security policy.

Alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff will gather Thursday, September 1 for the La Follette School’s annual Hill Fest welcome picnic.

Holden, Cajun Strangers to release 2nd CD

La Follette professor emeritus Karen Holden is kicking off her retirement with a CD release party and dance as her band, the Cajun Strangers, unveils "Cajun Country Ramble" on Sunday, August 2, at the Eastside Club, 3725 Monona Drive. Holden plays the Cajun t-fer (aka the triangle) for the Strangers.
Based on responses thus far, we are expecting an excellent turnout of alumni and friends, who will join faculty at a reception in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, November 5, at the Washington Marriott Hotel, 1221 22nd St. N.W. The reception is 6-7:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
