Women to start in leadership seminar

A class of 23 women, including for the first time a seated legislator, will take part in the 13th annual leadership training seminar sponsored by Wisconsin Women in Government and the La Follette School of Public Affairs.

Students to take polar plunge Feb. 9

La Follette School students are again lining up as Team Bob to take the Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 9, to raise money for Special Olympics.
After reaching his career goal of serving as an appointed official in a governor's administration, alum Tim Casper is back in the higher education realm as public affairs and government relations manager for Madison Area Technical College.
La Follette School students, faculty and staff participated in a community fund-raising drive through the first La Follette Penny Wars, which raised $105.69 to make blankets for children and teenagers in the hospital.

Teague Harvey's academic preparation for the Master of Public Affairs program was somewhat unusual: She double-majored in history and vocal performance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Women invited to apply for leadership seminar

Women interested in advancing their skills in management, networking and leadership are encouraged to apply for Wisconsin's premier women's leadership seminar.

After a few years as a paralegal, Dan Marlin wasn't sure of his next career move, but he knew he didn't want to be a lawyer. "I didn't want to argue for a living," says the first-year public affairs student, "and I have always been intrigued by policy and politics."
