After 11 years with the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), Alexis MacDonald (MPA ’08) has accepted a position as a professional staff member for the US House of Representatives’ Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. MacDonald also recently received the Badger of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s DC Chapter.

La Follette in D.C. reception is November 3

The La Follette School of Public Affairs is hosting a reception for alumni, friends, faculty, students, and staff Thursday, November 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Clyde’s of Gallery Place in Washington, D.C.

Distinguished scholars Ron Haskins, Isabel Sawhill, and C. Eugene Steuerle (MA ’72, MS ’73, PhD ‘75) will discuss Improving Opportunities for Children during the 2016 Paul Offner Lecture on Thursday, November 3.

One of Danny Benson’s career goals has been to contribute in a substantive way to policies and programs he felt were important. The La Follette School helped put him on the path to achieving that goal.
