Energy champion Schuller to discuss Energy Wars

The La Follette School of Public Affairs is co-sponsoring the public presentation Deescalating the Energy Wars at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26. Tisha Schuller, strategic advisor to the Stanford Natural Gas Initiative, will tell her story of moving from environmental activist to energy champion.

Energy conference draws 250 students

University of Wisconsin-Madison students are learning more about the opportunities and challenges of deploying renewable energy sources like wind, solar and biomass on a national scale at a conference partly organized by La Follette School students.

Environmental studies to be discussed

The Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies' director will share "Lessons from Frogs, Turfgrass, and Mosquitoes: An Environmental Studies Agenda for UW in the 21st Century" at a noon seminar on Tuesday, February 4, in the La Follette School conference room. Paul Robbins' research addresses questions spanning conservation conflicts, urban ecology, and environment and health interactions.

Two La Follette School alumni – Richelle Andrae (MPA ’17) and Sara Koliner (MPA ’14) – are among the panelists for the next Evidence-Based Health Policy Project (EBHPP) briefing.

More than 60 alumni and friends plan to attend the La Follette School's Madison reception on Thursday, February 5, at Inn on the Park's Top of the Park, 22 South Carroll St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Exercise incentives topic of Feb. 1 seminar

How financial incentives influence individuals' commitments to exercise will be discussed at the February 1 La Follette School seminar at noon in the school's conference room.
The pros and cons of expanding the scope of practice for health-care workers will be explored in a breakfast briefing on Wednesday, March 3.

Expert to discuss urban education

An expert on urban education policy will address alumni and friends of the La Follette School at an evening presentation,  "Rethinking Local School Governance: Tensions and Strategies," today, November 16, at the Milwaukee Athletic Club at 5:30 p.m. Guests are invited to a 4 p.m. reception.

La Follette School Professor Susan Yackee and Associate Director Hilary Shager will lead two of the five panel discussions at the opening conference of the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
