Alumni and friends in the Washington, D.C., area are invited to attend an October 14 presentation by professor Menzie Chinn on his new book that explains the origin and long-term effects of the current financial crisis.

Class of 2009 looks forward to challenges

"Economic downturns have always led to upturns," professor emeritus Robert Haveman told the class at its commencement celebration. Colonel to discuss 21st century war

Colonel T.X. Hammes, a senior research fellow at the National Defense University's Institute for National Strategic Studies, will give aseminar in the La Follette School's conference room on Thursday, April 14, 8-9:30 a.m. He will discuss "War in the 21st Century: Organizational Challenges for the U.S. Military Organization."
