Alum to speak on 'fiscal democracy'

La Follette School alum and economist Eugene Steuerle will discuss fiscal democracy in a seminar on Tuesday, April 2, at 12:30 p.m. in 8417 Sewell Social Sciences. His talk is called "Restoring 'Fiscal Democracy' and Securing a Brighter Future for Our Kids & the Nation."

Alum to speak on education grant

La Follette School alum and education consultant Sarah Archibald will discuss her work with Wisconsin's Race to the Top grant application in a policy roundtable with students at noon on Tuesday, November 9, in the school conference room.
La Follette School grad Tom Loftus, the former ambassador to Norway and special advisor to the director of the World Health Organization, joins Kjell Magne Bondevik, former prime minister of Norway and founder of the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights, in a discussion about religion's role in international negotiations.

A whirlwind trip to Washington, DC, gave 26 La Follette School students numerous opportunities to learn about working and living in the nation’s capital. Dozens of alumni also shared information with students about their careers and experiences during the school’s fourth La Follette in DC career development program since 2013. 

Alumni and friends are invited to watch the La Follette School team present in a national public policy competition at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in Washington, D.C., at American University's Mary Graydon Center 4.

Two alumni who are experts in human trafficking presented at a La Follette School symposium on modern-day slavery.

Alumni take top prize at LSSA Trivia Night

After a hard-fought battle – including a tie-breaker question – the Elder Belles won the La Follette School Student Association’s (LSSA) first Trivia Night, which raised more than $700 for their graduation celebration and other projects.

Alumni in the Chicago area will gather for casual conversation, drinks and hors d'oeuvres on Wednesday, February 15, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the downtown offices of Congress for the New Urbanism in suite 404 of 140 S. Dearborn Street.

More than 50 alumni and friends are expected to join La Follette School faculty, staff and students at the annual Madison reception on Thursday, February 3.
