Singletary advises on utility issues

As a rate analyst and policy advisor for the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin's Division of Gas and Energy, Corey Singletary works primarily on electric and gas and utility issues related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and smart grid technologies.

First-year student Alex Marach likes solving problems and building solutions, and the practice of policy analysis and recommendations will enable him to do just that.

La Follette School alumni and a student are advancing discussion of transportation options that use less energy, and emit fewer pollutants and greenhouse gases by helping to organize the Energy Hub conference Friday, November 5.
Professor Greg Nemet has won a three-year $183,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to explore options for public policy mechanisms to address climate change.

Hunt Allcott, an economist at New York University will give a seminar Thursday, April 29, at 1:20 p.m. in B302 Birge Hall demonstrating how he used econometrics to determine how the prices of fuel-efficient vehicles respond to increases in gasoline prices.

As a wind farm asset manager for Chicago-based Invenergy, alum Laura Miner meets with landowners and state and local officials to discuss benefits of wind energy.
