Students work on coat drive

La Follette School students spent an evening sorting coats, hats, scarves and mittens before low-income individuals came to choose winter gear.

A prize-winning author known for his global research on modern-day slavery will deliver a lecture Friday, April 30, as part of a daylong La Follette School symposium on human trafficking.

For Farha Tahir, gender analysis is the key to helping impoverished communities, even those she has never visited. "Good international development policy must consider the different roles men and women play in the communities the policy seeks to help," the La Follette School student says.

A few more volunteers are needed for two shifts at the Dane County Farmers' Market breakfast on Saturday, April 10.
