An estate gift from Michael and JoAnn Youngman will create the La Follette School’s first endowed chair. Michael Youngman received his master’s degree in public policy and administration in 1982 from UW–Madison’s Center for the Study of Public Policy and Administration, the La Follette School’s predecessor.

Daniel Speckhard (MA ’82), a member of the La Follette School’s Board of Visitors, is leading the unified Lutheran World Relief-IMA World Health, after the two faith-based humanitarian organizations merged January 1. Speckhard, a former US ambassador, has led Lutheran World Relief since 2014.

Daniel Speckhard (MA ’82), president and CEO of Lutheran World Relief, has joined the La Follette School’s Board of Visitors (BOV). Lutheran World Relief, an international development and relief organization, works in more than 30 countries.
