Alumni host happy hour for D.C. interns

Alumni from 2007-2010 met for happy hour July 20 to welcome La Follette School students and recent grads spending the summer in the Washington, D.C., area.
More than 85 alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff have accepted the invitation from Belle and Bob La Follette to attend Hillside Fest at their home at the Observatory Hill Office Building (aka the La Follette School) on Tuesday, July 20.

To help women from the Middle East learn more about democratic institutions, 2003 grad Katie Croake brought a delegation to Madison to meet women involved in Wisconsin politics.

2000 alum Fumihiro Ono reports Governor Kensaku Morita of Japan's Chiba Prefecture will be in Madison on Thursday, May 6, to mark the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin's sister-state relationship between Wisconsin and Chiba.
Nearly 2.5 years ago, many of you accepted a challenge from your alma mater to help us continue to attract the top students who apply to our public affairs program. As our admissions committee meets in the spring to weigh our o­ffers of support to students, we find we have more resources thanks to the gen­erosity of our financial supporters.

Two 2007 grads marry

Rachel Moskowitz and Julius Svoboda married in June, and a few La Follette School alumni and a Wisconsin state representative helped them celebrate.
Alumni and friends are sharing ideas with students about jobs, connections between classroom and policy arena, and insights into the workaday world of public affairs through the La Follette School's mentoring program.
