Norquist to give Offner lecture Sept. 23

Former Milwaukee mayor and a 1988 La Follette School alum John Norquist will give the Paul Offner memorial lecture today, September 23, at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge of the Pyle Center.

Kjell Magne Bondevik, former prime minister of Norway, will speak with La Follette School students and faculty at noon on Tuesday, September 28, in the La Follette School conference room.

Destinations and results are often unexpected, alum Leslie Albrecht Huber finds as she applies aspects of her La Follette training to her career as a freelance writer.

For years, 2000 grad Jessica Berger Gross struggled with fluctuating weight and bouts of unhappiness. Like many, she found comfort in food. Then she took her first yoga class. She lost 40 pounds and changed her life forever. Berger Gross tells her story in her 2009 book, enLIGHTened: How I Lost 40 Pounds with a Yoga Mat, Fresh Pineapples, and a Beagle Pointer.
