La Follette School economist Jason Fletcher has been elected to the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management's Policy Council, the organization's governing body.

Heinrich to lead committee for policy group

The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management has elected La Follette School director Carolyn Heinrich chair of its Committee of Institutional Representatives, which looks after the interests of institutional members of the organization.

La Follette in D.C. reception is November 3

The La Follette School of Public Affairs is hosting a reception for alumni, friends, faculty, students, and staff Thursday, November 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Clyde’s of Gallery Place in Washington, D.C.

The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management has circulated an unexpurgated version of Donald Moynihan’s essay about why public policy schools are essential. Moynihan originally wrote “Why Policy Schools Really Matter” as an op-ed response to a December 6 Washington Post op-ed, “The Problem with Policy Schools.”

Tjernstrom selected for APPAM award

Assistant Professor Emilia Tjernström has received a 40 for 40 Fellowship from the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM). The award provides funding for Tjernström to attend APPAM’s Fall Research Conference in Washington, DC, later this year.
