Students to describe GAO internships Wedesday

Students Ryan Eisner and Bryan Miller will describe their summer internships with the Government Accountability Office on Wednesday, October 10, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. in the La Follette School conference room.

Eisner spent 10 weeks in Chicago as part of the Physical Infrastructure team. He helping analysts plan, design and scope their review of receiver performance and spectrum efficiency. Eisner arranged and led interviews with experts, industry participants and agency officials; created work papers for internal use; analyzed previous work; and conducted literature reviews.

Miller was part of GAO's Acquisition and Sourcing Management team in Dayton, Ohio. He performed a congressionally mandated analysis of executive agencies' use of service contracts to measure compliance with Office of Management and Budget guidelines and to ensure there was an appropriate workforce balance between government employees and contractors. He also analyzed a portfolio of high-profile Department of Defense weapons programs to determine the impact of schedule and budget overruns and to measure the fiscal impact of concurrent development and production.
