State hiring process to be explored

La Follette School students can learn how to  navigate the state of Wisconsin's hiring process from an alum and a recruiter  for the Office of State Employee Relations  in a session on Thursday, February 6, at noon in the school's conference room.

2008 alum Jennie Mauer, who works for the  Department of Children, will describe the do's and don'ts of landing a state  job and share her "boots on the ground" prospective of interviewing and being  interviewed on state hiring panels. OCER recruiter Jennifer Gebert will  describe policy and procedures.

Seminar will cover civil service hiring  practices, how to respond to civil service exams, and how to excel in  structured state hiring interviews.
