Dominic Habjan (MPA ’18) is seeking election as county clerk in Missouri’s Vernon County. The primary election is August 7, and the general election is November 6.
Born and raised in Vernon County, Habjan received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, with an emphasis in public policy, from the University of Missouri. The county seat is Nevada, where Habjan graduated from high school.
“This is the place that helped shape me into the person that I am, and it is the reason why I am determined to do all I can to work for Vernon County,” he said in announcing his candidacy.
The county clerk administers elections and serves as the county’s administrator. With a population of approximately 21,000, Vernon County is in western Missouri on the Kansas border.
While at UW–Madison, Habjan served as social coordinator for the La Follette School Student Association.
