Professors comment on Wisconsin finance, budget

Political scientist Dennis Dresang and economists Andrew Reschovsky and Menzie Chinn are sharing their expertise on Wisconsin's politics and finances with media around the country.

Bloomberg quoted Dresang and Reschovsky about the governor's statements the state is "broke" in light of the cost of insuring five-year Wisconsin bonds being below the national average, a sign the market believes the state will work out its financial problems.

Chinn continues to file dispatches about the situation in Wisconsin on the blog he publishes with James Hamilton, an economics professor at the University of California, San Diego.

Dresang participated in a question-and-answer published by the Duluth News Tribune in Minnesota. Earlier, he appeared on Madison television channel 3's For the Record.
