State agency spokesperson and 1993 alum Bill Cosh will speak at the La Follette School about his career on Tuesday, April 10, from noon to 1 p.m. in the school conference room. His talk is called "On the Hot Seat: The Role of the Agency Spokesperson."
Cosh has served as the spokesperson for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources since his appointment by DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp in July 2011. Prior to that, he was spokesperson for the state Department of Justice where he was appointed by Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen in 2008. Cosh previously served as a research assistant for State Rep. Dan Meyer and as the senior education policy advisor under Gov. Scott McCallum. Cosh began his career as an assistant in the Office of the Chancellor for the UW-Madison while a student at the La Follette Institute for Public Affairs. He holds two master's degrees from UW-Madison, one in public policy and administration and one in industrial relations.
