New Yorker article on inequality cites Smeeding research

An article on economic inequality mentions an analysis by La Follette School Professor Timothy Smeeding.

The piece in the March 16 New Yorker discusses the Gini index, which measuring income inequality. Smeeding is founder and director emeritus of the Luxembourg Income Study. An analysis he and Andrea Brandolini conducted found that the United States has the highest Gini index — or greatest income inequality — of any affluent democracy in the world.
