Belle and Bob La Follette invite alumni and friends, new and continuing students, faculty and staff to their home at the Observatory Hill Office Building (aka the La Follette School) from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, for the Hillside Fest.
Guests will gather on the lawns of the La Follette School to grill, share side dishes, play yard games, socialize and maybe even network. Inclement weather will move the party inside. Last year's gathering drew more than 80 people.
"We'll have lawn games, door prizes and photo opportunities with Bob — that's even better than Bucky Badger," says career development coordinator Mary Russell, who is organizing the event.
The La Follette School will provide burgers, brats, buns, condiments, table service, soda and water. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share and additional beverages that they may want.
Children, families and friends are welcome. Free parking is available after 4:30 p.m. in lot 26 at the school and along Observatory Drive and lot 34 across Observatory Drive from the La Follette School (between Liz Waters Hall and Tripp Commons). However, Charter Street is completely closed and Observatory Drive is one-way heading west. Guests can keep abreast of road-closings online.
