Great turnout expected for DC reception today

Faculty, staff planning on attending D.C. reception

These professors and staff members plan to attend the reception:

More than 65 people are expected at Thursday's reception in Washington, D.C., for alumni and friends of the La Follette School The social gathering is 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Capitol View Business & Conference Center, 101 Constitution Avenue NW. Alumni are encouraged to attend even if they have not rsvped.

About one-third of the guests will be students in town November 7-8 as part of the pilot La Follette in D.C. program to connect students with alumni, employers and friends of the school through visits to work sites, informational interviews, a consultants panel lunch, and the school's reception for all alumni and friends.

Many La Follette School faculty members also plan to attend the reception. They and several alumni are in Washington to attend the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management conference.

Ten alumni and friends of the school with policy interests that include energy consulting, insurance and pensions, health, education, international development and federal tax policy are making themselves available to students November 7-8 for informational interviews.

Alumni also have helped to coordinate and host student visits to work sites, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Congressional Budget Office, Government Accountability Office, Urban Institute and World Bank. Consultants from Grant Thornton, Manchester Trade and Concentric Energy Advisors will talk with students at a panel lunch.
