Good turnout expected for alumni reception Feb. 7

More than 70 guests, including 45 alumni and friends, are expected so far at the annual Madison reception on Thursday, February 7. The reception with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar is at Inn on the Park's Top of the Park, 22 South Carroll St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

More than 100 alumni, friends, faculty, students and staff of the La Follette School take advantage of the annual opportunity to visit, catch up with former classmates, connect with mentors and renew relationships with former instructors.

"We look forward to talking with alumni and friends of the school," says director Tom DeLeire. "Faculty enjoy hearing about new initiatives and how our classroom lessons play out in the policy arena."

Students also enjoy the annual gathering. "We're very excited to reconnect with former students and see what they have done with their degrees," says Steve Kulig, alumni coordinator for the La Follette School Student Association, which is sponsoring the reception. The association will hold a silent auction at the reception; proceeds will support the graduation celebration at the Capitol in May.

The gathering is made possible by donations from alumni and friends to the La Follette School via the University of Wisconsin Foundation. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
