Former Wisconsin Congressmen Dave Obey and Tom Petri will speak on campus Monday, April 13, in Memorial Union's Tripp Commons from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
They will offer insight to how politics work at the state and national level, and give their perspectives on the importance of civic engagement in bipartisan conversations on policy issues.
The event is free and open to the public. An online RSVP is encouraged by April 7 but not required.
This lecture, part of the Civic Participation Lecture Series, is sponsored by the university's Office of Federal Relations, Department of Political Science, the La Follette School of Public Affairs; and the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service Wisconsin Humanities Council.
