Faculty affiliate Ringe presenting on European politics in April

Nils Ringe Nils Ringe

Political Science Professor Nils Ringe is one of four faculty members teaching the four-week course Understanding Contemporary European Politics. Ringe is a faculty affiliate of the La Follette School.

The course, offered through UW–Madison’s Division of Continuing Education, begins Tuesday, April 9 at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street. It will feature discussions about European politics with a broad overview and case studies of individual countries.

As in the United States, the politics of Europe include debates about national identify, immigration, partisan political processes, economics, and changes in contemporary society. Yet those issues also manifest in profoundly different ways because of geography, history, and the European Union.

Details and more information are online; the cost is $60.

Ringe also is presenting The Twilight of Angela Merkel: Implications for Germany and Europe on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. The hour-long program is at The University Club, 803 State Street.
