Evidence-Based Health Policy Project event features alumni discussing workforce issues

Two La Follette School alumni – Richelle Andrae (MPA ’17) and Sara Koliner (MPA ’14) – are among the panelists for the next Evidence-Based Health Policy Project (EBHPP) briefing.

Right Providers in the Right Places is Wednesday, February 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the State Capitol, Room 411 South. Alumnus Sam Austin (MIPA ’08) is director of the EBHPP, a partnership of the UW Population Health Institute, the La Follette School of Public Affairs, and the Wisconsin Legislative Council.

Koliner is Policy Section chief in the Division of Public Health’s Office of Policy and Practice Alignment at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Andrae is a program analyst for the Wisconsin Council on Medical Education and Workforce.

During her graduate school studies, Andrae was a project assistant for the EBHPP. Stephanie Marburger, a student in the dual-degree master of public affairs (MPA) and master of public health (MPH) program at UW–Madison, is the EBHPP’s current project assistant.

The February 21 panel discussion will focus on trends and emerging issues regarding the healthcare workforce nationally and in Wisconsin, current activities to support an adequate workforce in the state, and considerations for policymakers.

Details about this program and other EBHPP events are online. Registration is encouraged due to space limitations.
