Alumni, friends invited to reception Feb. 3

La Follette School alumni and friends are invited to its annual Madison reception on Thursday, February 3. The reception with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar is at Inn on the Park's Top of the Park, 22 South Carroll St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

More than 100 people, half of them alumni and friends, have said as of February 2 that they will take advantage of the opportunity to meet other alumni, catch up with former classmates, connect with mentors and visit with faculty and staff.

"We look forward to talking with alumni and friends of the school," says director Carolyn Heinrich. "Faculty enjoy hearing about new initiatives and how our classroom lessons play out in the policy arena."

Students also look forward to the annual gathering. "We're very excited toreconnect with former students and see what they have done with their degrees," says Kristina Krull, alumni coordinator for the La Follette School Student Association, which is sponsoring the reception. The association will hold a silent auction at the reception; proceeds will support the graduation celebration at the Capitol on May 15.

The gathering is made possible by donations from alumni and friends to the La Follette School via the University of Wisconsin Foundation. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
