Alumna Klippel named UW–Madison’s interim budget director

UW–Madison Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Laurent Heller appointed Jennifer Klippel (MPA ’06) as interim budget director following the retirement of Tim Norris, who served in that role since 2004.

The budget director is responsible for developing and managing UW–Madison’s $3 billion annual budget and ensuring that the university complies with all state, federal and UW System budget requirements.

Since joining UW–Madison’s Budget Office in 2011, Klippel has worked on a wide range of budget and financial issues. She previously worked at UW System (2008–11) and the Legislative Audit Bureau (2006–08).

“Jennifer has deep experience and brings a varied perspective to the job,” Heller says. “I have the utmost confidence that Jennifer will do an excellent job in this leadership role.”

Klippel also received bachelor’s degrees in history and political science from UW–Madison.
