Nick Heckman (MPA ’12) is one of the presenters at the 2018 University of Wisconsin Obesity Management Summit in Madison on May 18 and 19.
Heckman, who also received bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology, will discuss the development of a fruit and vegetable prescription program during a session on Obesity Management Considerations in Primary Care and the Community. He is a food security policy analyst at Public Health Madison and Dane County.
The Department of Surgery at UW–Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health is sponsoring the training opportunity for health care professionals. Dozens of presenters will provide multidisciplinary perspectives as they discuss evidence-based treatments for obesity in clinical and other settings.
